A: Monoclonal antibody-based immunofluorescence identification of Encephalitozoon hellem. Spores are present in a bronchoalveolar lavage sample of a 30-year-old AIDS patient from Georgia. Note the bright fluorescent spores, which have extruded their polar tubules.
